Field View Nursery

Outdoor Area

Our nursery boasts an extensive, spacious garden and each room has its own decked area outside so children can play and learn in all weathers; these outdoor spaces encourage learning through the seasons, hands-on planting and growing, and regular contact with the natural world.

Child-led exploration in an open-ended environment supports physical development—running, climbing and balancing—while also promoting communication and language as children describe discoveries, share stories and negotiate with friends. Regular time outdoors nurtures mental wellbeing and holistic growth, linking sensory experiences, curiosity and resilience; simple, natural resources are celebrated so that a stick is more than just a stick—it can be a wand, a spade, a paintbrush, a measuring tool or a prop for imaginative play, fostering creativity and independent learning, skills needed for Life.
