We have an onsite cook who prepares well balanced, nutritious homemade meals alongside this we provide snacks of fresh fruit and vegetables (some grown from our very own garden dependant on the time of year) throughout the day that the children can help to prepare. We also have chickens in the field next door where we can feed them and collect the eggs.

We take into account any cultural/ religious/ medical or dietary requirements are catered for and a safe food agreement is completed and shared with key person and the cook.

We have a 4-week menu which runs throughout Spring, Summer & Autumn, when the menus are due to be changed we value any ideas or suggestions you may have, we believe a balanced diet is essential to a child’s physical and mental development.

Children at Fieldview develop their social skills and independence throughout snack & meal times with opportunity to use real authentic plates, glasses & cutlery (not plastic), they are encouraged to learn necessary skills for social eating, how to use cutlery, serve and share food and are encouraged to try new things.

Our tribe participate in mealtimes and talk with the children, helping them to differentiate between healthy and not so healthy foods, promote positive language and opportunities to develop new language, and independence.
The local Environmental Health Department has awarded the Nursery the full Fiver stars in the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme.
